HUGE!

So, I feel enormous right now, and should do something about it...so at this second, I'm wearing running clothes and am sitting at the computer, haahaa! Really wish I had a bossy friend who would drag me out so I could run and cry at the same time, curse at them, at myself and then feel good later on and apologize profusely to them later...any takers? I think I will go out today, after 1...no, I WILL go out today, after 1...there is no point in me wearing these horrid clothes without going out...

...I am also fed up of letting my nose make the decisions...so, I ought to do something about it...even if it hurts like hell, which I'm sure it will...the migraines are much less frequent although I am still constantly in some pain...I'm just so SICK of being a miserable person. :) friggin nose.

There is also a wedding coming up, it would be nice to feel good about myself for that and good enough to be wearing nice clothes and shizzle...and to be happy enough to go outside in general...

...god, this is a moany one...but, FUCK my nose hurts and I cba...so, I'm sorry!

Keeping folk happy!

I thought I would do something to keep some people happy, and put some pics up as the card is now full. Not sure how this will all pan out, as if I have the energy, I might play with them, but we shall see, won't we!

NEWS.

Went to doctors, have new spray, I also have an appointment with ENT...hopefully they will scan my face...and head, and see if there is actually anything more wrong with me than the polyps (YUCK!). I stupidly read the interwebs and it's noted that it can be a sign of cancer! BUT, I have taken that with a pinch of salt, but, you know...I've had them for soooooooo long now, is does make your mind decide to be a bitch!

I have downloaded some past papers and am thinking of starting from scratch with the whole art thing, possibly make my way through  those things, and at some point sign up for a folio class, ought to do something that I actually enjoy!

Oh, and I've bought a new car...kinda...as in it's ordered and being made in Germany :D SUPER EXCITED!

OTHERSTUFF.

Nothing much really, have just been working really, as usual. I am avoiding a lovely day off in the sun today, as I woke with a horrible headache, but I will organise my Mondays better at some point...like when I want to get some research shizzle for whatever projects I may or may not be doing...I just need to stop being so bloody lazy really, and stop caring about what people think of me. This is like the hardest!

Day 2

The second time I have been running...I did it outside in the wet where the wolves hide...in the dark...I survived! :) left at around 7:15pm and was out for about half an hour! I did not die. Though my toes complained a bit and I was a wee bit wheezy from the cold air afterwards.

I would not say it was easy, but it was not as hard as I thought it was, and give I snaked through the side streets, I didn't get too bored as it broke it up a bit...

...back home to rice and a burger, and water and teeeaaaaa...and now sitting here, I feel reeeeaaaally cold, oh and was a little shaky with the chopsticks, but hey, I'm away to have shower soon, which will help, probably... :)

Oh, and new running top came in the post today, yay...its pink, whereas the photo looked red, bad people!!!

I will still quit...

...So, I have started to do the Couch to 5K thing that the NHS has...I'm writing it here, in the blog in a half arsed attempt to keep at it, cause I've written it here...and I could do like a progress blog...thaaat, my friends, will stop more quickly than me and the 'running'...I'm already using the excuse that it is cold and wintery and stuffs...but, hey...I can live in hope that I won't fob the running off because of the weather and the fact I have no time...ach well, we'll see how it goes...I did a kinda run thing...but it was inside, to see if I could do the whole thing without dying, so when I go outside I have an idea of what I'm letting myself in for...and to let me know that I can do it...

That's all really...for Christmas I received a Blythe doll, its amaaaaaazing, and I love it!

I have started with Christmas things, there are lights up, and the mantlepiece looks lovely...there are some who have presents sorted, though many who I still have no clue of what to get them...but it will be done...

...there is one fingerless glove made in Dr Who style, its cool...I just need to get round to finishing the other one...

OOOH! I received mail the other day from limboo! Super exciting!! Loads more than I ordered, which was, the secondd of her zines! IT'SSOCOOL!! I love them, and their dark, light humour, it's ace! But the extras were awesomes and there were so many!! So I am slowly writing a 'Thank You!" pack which will arrive some how at some point...probably next year :p

I need to sort out foodie things and crafty things...was thinking of sewing type things, cause knitting takes FOREVER!!! Foodie things will be yummy things, and there might be preserved thing, which will also be yummy, just in a jar...maybe even to go with the other things...as always, there will be a theme to join them altogether...not sure what it will be yet... :D

Thoroughly Sorted Out

Today I managed to spend an hour at the bank. Woo. Totes overjoyed at that I'm sure you can tell...BUT I have stuff sorted and all I have to worry about is staying in work and nothing much else...

...I'm back from holiday where I was total hell to be with...tiredness and shit weather are not really good ingredients for a happy Iona...oh well...stupid unseasonal month of winter that we're having! We did, however see some awesome friends and saw some cool things here and there :) Oh, and shopping, lots of shopping was done!! But, yeah, I was not really a nice person to be with last week...which I suppose is okay, as I feel guilty and am being nice ...now... cause that makes it all better?

Productive

Today is the day that is like my Sunday, where I usually sleep until I get up with half an hour to get ready for driving lesson with Terry...today was different...yes different, I havn't locked anyone in before...

...sooo, JAF left for work, haahaa...and I slept...until bout 930am, rolled out of bed and showered, then decided I wanted to make sushi and tempura prawn...which I did...and had a banana too, yay...made some Thai Green soup while the rice was cooking and delved to the back of the T.V. where the Goccos were in hiding...

nommed on sushi and contemplated while drawing owls...printed owls off and Gocco'd them...it didn't work, one side of the Gocco didn't flash, not so cool...so I tried again...and swapped the bulbs...same thing happened...again...*SIIIIGH*

All was not lost though as I found a slide that I had flashed, but not printed yet, and almost had fun...

...I looked at the clock and ran...was on. time. for Driving lesson.

Today was all new, there were 46749867 roundabouts on the way to Cove, which was nice, of course...and then we went through Torry (where I had to lock the doors cause some c**t is carjacking learner drivers) where I followed a guy skateboarding in the middle of the road and forgot I was turning left...ooops...uhm... there were many people walking in front of me without checking, a couple of people cutting me off and pissing teacherman off a tad...THEN on one of my last turns, a 23 bus pulled out and nearly mowed me down, that was niiiiiiiiiice...BUT aside from being a little dodgy, the lesson went REALLY well, I didn't screw up the roundabouts and Terry said I coped REALLY well, well done me...oh....and a guy cut in front of me from the left hand lane when I was attempting to turn right, in the right hand lane...*rambles*...was was cool was driving nice and fast...and  the general lesson was fun, oh, and gear changes are cool also...speeding accidentally... twice... isn't soooo cool though "Iona, can learner drivers get points on their license?", "probably", "Yes, they can, speeding is 3, you get 6 and they take it away", "Hmmm, ok, nice to know..."

THEN I came home...
and Gocco'd til JAF came home...well, after I nommed some sugar...here are some pictures:

New stuff

I worked today, of course, it was all cool, and busy all day, but still quite nice, the staff that was in were great and all worked really hard, and REALLY well :) Thanks Guys!!

Then I went to town and just went to one shop, the Offset 57 shop in the Academy, it was really cool, a little sparse, but really cool all the same, and I suppose the sparsness was apt as it was artsy, as it should be...I are bought Nick a birthday pressie, and lots of Limboo's things that they had on sale, super cute and awesomes!!

I do need to artify, and now that there is Supersize vs Superskinny on, I shall maybe sit cross legged oin floor and doodle...lots...or I could find my PoGo...which has completely disappeared! Super annoying! Cause I needs it for a work thing, SO ANNOYING! It is Ridicculuss!

So, I thought that having a missing 't' key wouldnt be a total loss. Covering it with a pretty piece of paper didn't make it any better...damn, I wish it had been a 'z' or 'q'. I'm never in the area of 'q'...*siiiigh*

This has been an interesting week at work. I've been thinking alot about food and have made some new stuff for the Cafe. If you like hummus, then you'd be happy...but there will be more to come!

Ah, I am still drivinating, which is fun, I think, and finally Jaf has insured me on his car, yaaaaaay! So that's fun, except my foot hurts...and roundabouts are like craaaaazy mofo, crazy...but, hey...I have to do this shizzle...damn gears and looking and judging and driving and not screaming circles of hell...

Uhm, art and the lack thereof...uhm, I've done a photo frame for someone at the Village...but that's it, I do however have a pyrography (?) tool, SO, I can burn bits of wood :)

While avoiding

Doing the washing up I thought that I might use the time partially productively by blogging about...not a great deal...

So I started a crochet blanket before Christmas and am still at it, did the usual thing of getting into a newly learned thibg and burning out after a certain stage and telling myself (also known as lying) that I'd go back to it tomorrow...and lo it is past Christmas, more near Easter, and I have only just picked it up again...

When I left it, it looked like loads of these:

Snow

So today was pretty lame all in all...not totes sure why, one good thing was the amount of snow though, which by the end of the day was sufficient enough to make a wee snowman for my bus buddy :)

Just not feeling that great in the mind...not that I'm nuts, but that I'm maybe just not too happy about something, dunno, last year was pretty trying by the end, and Jan could have started better...all in all I'm happy, nothing is wrong with life etc, I'm just a bit...dunno, lost feeling? *shrugs* MEH, this has made me start doodling and stuff though.

I have also started swaps again, and have decided on arty ones soooo...yeah...

No Snow :(

So, it would seem that Blogger has, once again, updated in the time it has taken me to write another post...lordy, you would think that blogging was the most difficult thing to do in the world. Thing is, if people going through war, illness and government censorship can get a blog or two through, I don't have any excuses...the same goes for my lack of art...craft...mixed media etc.

So, here I am...again...Happy New Year to all of you...who read this pitiful excuse of ramblings...

ANYWHO...The last months of 2012 were...hmm...shall we say, trying...which in my eyes is quite an understatement...major mind screws and a couple of upsetting pieces of news, one of which only just hit me on Friday, these are only one aspect of the last year that made going to work trying...but, heyho!

Christmas was mainly good, was really nice having two weeks of not being in the village, as although I love it there, it is still full on, and I don't even live there...

So, I don't think I have mentioned that I'm learning how to drive, thins brings it's own special hell, but is also fun...in a strange way, just wish I could learn faster!!! Just thinking of all the freedom it'll bring later, and about all the road trips that probably won't actually happen...wooo *sigh*

There is some low feeling, but today it's more cause there is no snow, I LOVE snow, but here in Aberdoom, there is barely any, it's just cold, which is not very nice...why it so cold and there is no snow, TELL MEEE!!! I am fed up of driving in the rain, snow would make it more interesting!

Riht, ought to get dressed and start drawing or whatever it is I'm doing...

Nothing better to do

Other than blog or read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory... decided to blog instead, still with the prickle of pepper from my chilled sausage roll rolling aeound my mouth breaking through the coating of fat numbing most everything else...grand way to spend a morning. ..might wash it away with intesting and tooth melting red bull in a mo as I'm sure that I'm boring you already :)

So, the cafe has been closed for a couple of days as the heating died,  booo...it has meant however, a wee holiday in the craft studio, and has opened up a new way of getting to know some day placements and villagers. Usually its difficult in the café as it's busy, the public are demanding and there are lot's of health and safety issues that don't really promote drunkeness by laughter...

...however, I have missed the café, and coffee tasting coffee (thanks MacBeans, Aberdeen). The normality makes time go a bit slower and so thia week has rushed away, it's already Thursday for gods sake. Oh, and I'll be late, so that's more rushing, damn FirstBus...Soooo tired, the past few weeks have been totally draining, so busy, so mind scewing and just...plain tiring...will I quit though...eh, no, I think not.

It is now lunch, the place is freeezing, but open, all I hear about is how cold it is, I have a silly hat on though, so I don't mind that my fingers are froooozenated :)

Do not like the overuse of the phrase 'especially in a commercial environment' used all too often by a certain coworker :p

Work

So, I work too much now, I have no time for friends, or art...really...I am now at my 'work' 6 days a week, leaving one day for J and I to spend together...oh boohoohoohoohoo!! HAAHAAHAA! nah, I wouldn't be there so often if I didn't like it...would I!?!?!

The only time I have for artistic stuff is when I am at the Craft Studio on Mondays, and when I get home from work...when I journal...and they aren't great, basic mind scribbles is all, mostly done while watching Firefly and the Olympics like...

So, I was meant to update more of the London trip, buuut I cba...so if you would like more, then plague me and ask, and I shall let you see the journal we wrote when we visited. We did have a really good time of it though!

So, why am I here, rambling over a page that is not read...because, that is why, just because.

Ehm, well, I am missing a birthday celebration and that is annoying, as I don't feel amazing, and it is at a cool wee place down at the beach, would have been nice to see folk, hmmm...

...It is pure raining at the moment, which is kinda ok, as I am indoors, and watching it being all grey and miserable, would be nice if there was also some thunder, but then I'd have to stop listening to Gotan Project...oh, the new Cornetto things are pretty nice, but I still prefer Betty's in Stonehaven....

We have now started a thing for home made pop corn, which is nice, though the husks get stuck in my teeth, which is dead painful! :(  But coming up with new flavours is quite fun :) Last night was cinnamon sugar, which is totally ftw :)

Riiiight, with the smell of peroxide spurring me on to write...I thought I would try to update the blog, something that happens VERY rarely...so rarely that I think the last time I gave the whole place a bit of a shiggle and changed my profile etc.

Not that much happens to me really...UHM...Jaf and I went to London a couple of weeks ago, that was cool...it rained loads, but that meant that there were a couple of really cool photos :)

We saw some people that had moved back home after uni, which was really nice.

On the Monday we arrived and it was raining...so we met Rachel at Covant Garden and had paella...not before stopping at the Moomin shop though...so now I have a Little Mi cookie cutter, which I havn't used yet, even though it is TOTALLY EXCITING!! After the foods we had a wander, to Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery, which was soggy, then a bit overpowering with the glorifying Jesusness...though not horribly horrid...

...From there we avoided puddles towards the Mile to Buckingham Palace, which we saw, kind of, through the stage and seating for the birthday bash the U.K. gave the Queen...it was ok, like a whitish house in the rain really :p.

We the n decided to walk around Pall Mall and find a patisserie and have some coffee and cake, cake ftw! Sadly we were left to our own devises as Rach had to dash off! It was great seeing her, if only it had been for a little longer!

I'll update with more laters...

Gunther von Hagens, it will be upsetting when he dies.

Gunther von Hagens will most probably die this year, way before his time, taken by severe Alzheimer's, I find this deeply saddening. His work was and still is awe inspiring and I feel that the world could have seen things in a different light, if there was more time for him.

I feel if you think he's just controversial, you havn't thought enough about yourself...from what I have seen, he has revealed to us what we are, and it is the usual human thing where we can't face that we are animals...the Crucifiction was amazing, and the fact that religious types may find it abhorrent is the most humorous thing of all, there are images of Christ in pure form, self-righteously paraded around the globe as an advert for a life of feeling worthless, and not good enough. The whole sin and be punished, when 'god' has given us the right to chose our own path, where we can do no wrong in 'his' eyes...and where 'Jesus' died for our sins, though 'we' can still sin...total contradiction...where an image much more life-like, much more real, is too much, and apparently disgusting... just shows that we are living in a dream land... the images where it shows true death invoke feelings the world cannot handle, because they themselves feel they are holier than themselves...so the blinkers and denial are put up...pieces of art like Gunther's are scandalous because they remind up what we are avoiding...

done with ramble... if you want to post comments of hate, don't expect an answer... this man is akin to the naked rambler...if we faced to our own realities, we wouldn't be so shocked, and in my mind, we would all be much more 'Christian' than those who step over the homeless to get to church, and we may understand the death of humanity we have created through the spread of the religious poison.

OOOOOOOoooooooOOOOOooooh! It's Halloween.

This year has been quite fun really, we made fooooood :) We also had people round to help us eat it as well though. This was nice :)

For Saturday night's tea, we nommed on Pulled lamb which had been roasted with camomile tea leaves, rosemary, honey and other ...stuff, herbs and such. Roast purple carrots, beetroot, sweet potato, parsnips...red onion and baby corn...there may have been other veg...There was also potatoes, which were fried with lemon and...other things, I didn't make the food, I was working... Martha (JAF) Stewart controlled the kitchen wonderfully, and did, pure dead brullyantly.

For pudding, Martha made a strudel, and I made iced gingerbread cupcakes, and a haloweeny rocky road type thing, Sho brought cinder toffee, it was all rather lovely tbh. Well done all, and thank you for eating the nom :)

While eating we watched Evil Dead, The Candyman (who apparently doesn't star Gillian Anderson...sure it doesn't...*sigh* Chris still had a quiet fapp in the corner though...WE ALSO watched Beetlejuice aaand people left, which led to Crai and I watching the end of Halloween and the (new (crap)) Friday 13th.

Woke to leftovers, big cup of tea and a bacon roll, woooo!

I have not been posting bento enough, and I have been making a few recently, I shall start with the latest and work back...

Riiiight, we have Iberico ham and choritzo carbonara with scrambled egg skull and crossbones. Raw purple carrots, baby tomato and carrot. Iced gingerbread cupcake.

A selection of smoked salmon and pepperoni sushis with general raw veggies. Dried bananas and nuts.

Mainly rice and tuna, pudding is dark chocolate and the same fruit and nut combo as the one above.

Egg noodles with sweet chilli and hoi sin sauce with caramelized pork. Edamame and a pumpkin shaped onigiri with carrot, spring onion and avocado.

That is it. So far :)

Well, today is the last day of the holiday, WOO...this time it's been great! I think that it helps if you like the work place you are going back to. It's just been a bit of fresh air really, good to have a proper break, and time spent with JAF. It's been swell, light, fluffy, sunny, warming, glowing. There have been days where the smell of the air has just made me smile, others when I've been weepy and tired, and cranky and full of childish frustration where I can't describe the fear and misunderstandings I am feeling. But. Today, though the last, is unburdened, happy, lighter and warm...a bit fuzzy...though there seems to be the signs of bemusement to be closely followed by slight irritation as there is someone patting me on the head, skritching my side, ruffling my hair, bringing me a banarnar right to my nose...(for my breakfast)...etc...

Oh, and I'm reading Ray Bradbury's 'Dandelion Wine'...which would account for all the verbs...
